Why are there paid ads on at the top of TexasMusiciansForum?

Yes, we have paid ads at the top of the home page.

Our hope is that someday this will help pay for the server costs. So far, the income has been negligible, but maybe someday it will help. We have no desire to get rich off the site (impossible anyway), nor do we expect any compensation for our time. We do this because we want to, because we enjoy it. It would just be nice if we didn't have to pay to do it. :D

Rest assured that TexasMusiciansForum will NEVER plaster paid ads all over the place like some sites do. Right now there is one ad at the top of the home page and the classifieds pages, out of the way, and easy to distinguish from the real reason you came here - the member's posts.

We've seen other sites that have paid ads at the top, bottom, and sides of the website. Too much. Even worse, we've seen some that put text ads IN BETWEEN POSTS. Sometimes they're hard to distinguish from the posts and I think that's the point - they want you to think it's a post so you'll click on it and they'll get paid. WE HATE THAT AND WILL NEVER DO THAT TO YOU. We also hate popups, so you'll never see those either.

We created this website for you. We're musicians too, and we want the site to be member-friendly. We will never overload the site with paid ads, and never try to trick you by mixing ads in with posts. Period.

If you have any questions, suggestions, or complaints about paid ads or anything else on TexasMusiciansForum.com, please contact us.
