Adding Images to Posts

Images must not have a file size larger than 512KB. If your image is larger than this, there are several free websites that will help you to resize it. http://www.webresizer.com/ works very well and is free.

To add images to your post :

Start a new post or reply to an existing post.

Beneath Save Draft, Preview and Submit buttons, click on the Upload Attachment tab.

Click the Browse button to select the image on your computer.

After selecting the image, click Add the File.

After the file has uploaded the page will refresh and you will now see 2 buttons - Place Inline and Delete File.

In your post, put the cursor where you want the image to display, then click Place Inline.

You will see some code appear in your post, looking something like this :

Code: Select all

If it's in the right place, click Submit and you're done!

These instructions are still correct for uploading an image from your computer. I'm sorry it's not easier, but it's not as hard as it sounds.

I have increased the allowed file size to 12 mb - that's actually a pretty big picture!! If your pic is big, the software will make a smaller version to put in your post. When you click this smaller pic, the big pic will be shown.

The easiest way is to use the "insert image" button at the top of the post editor. This lets you link to a picture on the web. There are sites that let you upload your pics and store them so you can link to them from other sites. The one I use is www.imgur.com - it's free, and pretty easy to use.
